HH thanks church

Tazzie Chayinda-President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has thanked the Church for it’s continued leadership in uniting the country and the role it played as a peace maker at the height of general elections last year.

President HICHILEMA says the church through it’s prayers and guidance saw the country through a diffcult election period, but now doors of prosperity are opening up over the nation.

He says it is for this purpose that government and the body of Christ need to work together not only for the spiritual and moral growth of the citizens but also for betterment of their lives.

President HICHILEMA says the church is instrumental in instilling a good conscience so that the culture of corruption does not become a norm.

The President said this in a speech read for him by Water Development and Sanitation Minister MIKE MPOSHA during the heavenly Father Parish Fundraising Dinner Dance Gala in Lusaka.

President HICHILEMA said government is aware of the role that the church plays in complimenting government efforts in various sectors such as education and health.

He said government will support all endeavors that reinforce the shared beliefs that put God at the centre of human endeavors.

President HICHILEMA has since encouraged the Parish Council to continue investing in the spiritual, moral and intellectual development of the youth by providing them with tools to enhance participation in the Parish, Constituency and national development pr
grammes.

The President and Mr. MPOSHA have since contributed 15 thousand Kwacha each towards the completion of the Parish.

And, Parish Priest Father DAVID MASIKINI said the fundraising gala will enable the church to facilitate for the completion of the remaining works of the parish in chelstone.
