HH, one of the best leaders – EU

The European Union -EU- says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is one of the best leaders to promote democracy and human rights in the world.

Outgoing EU Ambassador to Zambia JACEK JANKOWSKI says this is because Zambia is a beacon of peace in the region and the globe.

Mr. JANKSOWSKI says he sees President HICHILEMA as a voice of Africa in the promotion of democracy, human rights and universal values globally.

Speaking when he paid a farewell courtesy call on President HICHILEMA at State House today, Mr. JANKSOWSKI said Zambia has a loyal friend in the EU.

And President HICHILEMA thanked the EU for playing a part in strengthening democracy in the country.

He said the incoming EU team should build on from where their predecessors have left.

The President said the EU should be free to engage stakeholders including opposition leaders in pursuit of strengthening democracy.

President HICHILEMA added that Zambia’s relationship with the EU should be open beyond the ruling party.

The EU Ambassador concludes his work in Zambia this month-end after serving for four years.
