HH in Chililabombwe to commission Chingola-Chililabombwe road

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is in Chililabombwe to commission the reconstructed 35- kilometres Chingola Chililabombwe road.

The 31 million US dollars road is the first project signed under the public private Partnership funding model.

And Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO said the project is another milestone by government to improve road infrastructure in the country.

Mr MATAMBO said the project is key for the economy of the SADC region and the great lakes region.

And infrastructure, housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI said the project has been done on the principles of right price, quality and the right time.

He has warned of severe sanctions against any shoddy works on road projects.

And Chingola MP CHIPOKA MULENGA said the road will address congestion leading to Kasumbalesa border post.

Meanwhile the Workers Compensation Fund Control Board Chairperson EMMANUEL MBAMBIKO said the board will realize 35 million Kwacha per year and that 300 jobs were created during the construction stage.

And Public Service Pensions Fund Board Chairperson JOHN KASANGA said the board is investing in the Public Private Partnership to grow the pension fund to lessen pressure on the government.
