HH HOLDS MEETING WITH ENERGY PLAYERS

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has urged the stakeholders in the energy industry to ensure the country is energy sufficient.

The President says the industry must ensure there are adequate stocks, in order to drive the country’s economy towards potential, but as well export the excess.

This is according to a statement posted on the President’s FACEBOOK page, after he held a meeting at State House with stakeholders in the energy sector.

Among the parties at the round table discussion were the Ministry of Energy, Energy Regulation Board -ERB-, ZESCO, Rural Electrification Authority -REA- and other stakeholders.

President HICHILEMA  said among many other matters identified during the meeting were challenges as well as exploring ways on how to unlock rigidities and other impediments.

He has however stated that the government must achieve set targets, through proper planning, prudence and discipline, and consequently expedite this process with urgency, going forward.

President HICHILEMA has since told stakeholders to collaborate by always talking to each other in order to deliver efficient services to the Zambian people, saying no one would stand in the way to economic restoration.
