HH and GBM off to Mongu for Kuomboka

UPND supremo Hakainde Hichilema and his deputy Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba have left the nation’s capital, Lusaka, for the Western Province capital, Mongu, to attend the Kuomboka ceremony slated for Saturday.

The UPND leaders will join thousands of people including foreign tourists in witnessing the Kuomboka ceremony, a traditional event for the Lozi speaking people.

Republican President Edgar Lungu is also expected to attend the colourful ceremony, which was last held in 2012 due to low water levels in the plains.

Meanwhile, Hichilema and GBM will this evening appear on various radio stations to explain their vision for the country.

The UPND leader while in Western province is also expected to hold meetings with traditional leaders.

He will will also inspect some of the developmental projects in the education and health sectors he has been implementing in his individual capacity.

Hichilema has been implementing various developmental projects especially in the education, health and agriculture sectors across the country.
