Health challenges will be addressed-Nalumango

Prince Chiyuni-Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says Government is committed to addressing challenges in the Health sector.

Ms. NALUMANGO says this is why Government has prioritized the recruitment of health workers and provision of essential drugs and equipment in health facilities.

The Vice President was speaking when she officially opened, Sinyawagora Rural Health Centre in Luangwa district, constructed by Luangwa Child Development Agency, with support from Child Fund Zambia at a cost of over four Million Kwacha.

Ms. NALUMANGO expressed gratitude to Child Fund Zambia and it’s cooperating partners for supplementing Government efforts in the provision of quality health services.

She said Government is happy that the Health Centre has a fully equipped laboratory, maternity wing and a three bedroom staff house.

The Vice President further said that the opening of the health facility has come at the right time when Government has started the process of recruiting health workers.

And Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO said the opening of Sinyawagora Rural Health Centre will greatly improve health service delivery to the community.

Ms. MASEBO also thanked Child Fund Zambia for funding the construction of the Health Centre.

Meanwhile, Ms. MASEBO commended health workers in Luangwa district for reaching 67 percent of people vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic.

And Lusaka Province Minister, SHEAL MULYATA said the opening of the Sinyawagora Rural Health Centre, will reduce the distance that people of Makokwa ward used to cover, to access health services.

Meanwhile, Child Fund Zambia, Country Director, SIMBA MACHINGAIDZE said provision of quality health services is the cornerstone of Child Fund Zambia’s work.
