GSB Withdraws Football Club Sponsorship as Betway Super League Deal Takes Center Stage

In a significant shakeup, GSB has announced the termination of sponsorships with several football clubs, including Power Dynamos, Mufulira Wanderers, Prison Leopards, and Nkana.

This decision follows Betway’s league sponsorship with the Zambian Premier League, which has prompted GSB to withdraw its support due to conflicting agreements.

“We are paying over 200k dollars. We are cancelling all, there is nothing we can do, it’s business,” stated Mr. Yannakis, GSB’s boss.

“When we went to see somebody at FAZ, I was told it’s football and it’s business, and they decide what is good for Zambian football.”

The abrupt move will without a doubt leave the affected clubs without crucial financial backing. As reactions unfold, the clubs’ futures hang in uncertainty and we are yet to get reactions from the clubs affected.
