Govt Urged To Address Mimimum Wage For Sales Persons

By Prudence Siabana

The Merchandisers Union of Zambia has called on newly appointed Labour Minister Brenda Tambatamba to look into improved minimum wage and improved conditions of service for salespersons across the country.

Union interim General Secretary Raphael Chibwe has observed that there is a lot of exploitation of merchandisers as most employers do not follow the labor laws, hence the need to bring sanity in the sector.

Mr Chibwe is however hopeful that with the coming in of the new administration, the rule of law will prevail in the sector which has a majority of youths employed.
