GOVT TO ROLL OUT EMERGENCY CASH TRANSFER

Government says it will soon roll out the Emergency Cash Transfer Programme to 12 districts.

Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit – DMMU- National Coordinator, GABRIEL POLLEN says the programme is meant for people who are experiencing food insecurity, as a result of floods, dry spells or pest infection experienced in the 2021 – 2022 season.

Among the districts is Lusaka, Lumezi, Lusangazi, Chama, Gwembe, Sinazongwe, Siavonga, Namwala , Itezhi-tezhi, Mwandi and Sesheke.

Dr. POLLEN has told ZNBC News the districts were selected on the basis of recording the highest level of shocks in the rainy season.
