By Etambuyu Katota

Government says it will soon revise the land policy to make it more favourable for Zambians than foreigners.

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, ELIJAH MUCHIMA says going forward there will be a distinction in the way land is allocated to Zambians and foreign nationals.

The minister, who toured various farming blocks in Serenje District, expressed concern with the sale of land by the locals to foreign nationals at give away prices.

Mr. MUCHIMA appealed to Zambians to avoid selling their land cheaply.

He said foreign nationals are owning land as much as 5 thousand hectares.

Mr. MUCHIMA said Zambians must safeguard land because it is an important asset that increases in value and must be protected for the future generation.

He said the UPND administration will NOT allow any illegal land distribution.

Mr. MUCHIMA said anybody, who will be found distributing land without authority will be arrested.
