Govt to review cooperative society Act

The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development has started reviewing the cooperative society act and policy to strengthen the cooperative movement.

The review of the Act also seeks to enhance the legal status of the cooperative movement.

Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister ELIAS MUBANGA says once the law is reviewed, it will broaden areas of support.

Mr. MUBANGA said this when he launched the Lawyers Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited in Lusaka.

And Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE said the Lawyers’ Cooperative will enhance financial security and welfare of the legal profession.

Meanwhile, LAZ President LUNGISANI ZULU said the cooperative will help increase financial resources needed to develop the country.
