GOVT TO RECRUIT MORE SPECIALIST PERSONNEL

By Patrick Mulenga:The Ministry of Health intends to train and recruit more specialist medical personnel in order to cut down on costs that comes with sending patients outside the country.Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya says Government wants to see that the number of specialist medical personnel increase from 80 to 5- hundred by 2021.Dr. Chilufya further disclosed that the ministry has also started building Six specialised hospitals across the country to enhance treatment of medical conditions locally.He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Health Director in Charge of Clinical Services Felix Makupe during the Rotary Club of Lusaka Metro Induction ceremony.The Minister has since praised Rotary International for its continued effort in supplementing government through improving access to health care in communities.Meanwhile, Rotary Club of Lusaka Metro Incoming President Chisembwe Fumbeshi said Rotary is about making a positive impact in the lives of the less privileged.
