Govt to ensure food security in SP- Nanjuwa

(ZANIS) Southern Province Minister, CREDO NANJUWA says the government is working tirelessly to ensure food security in the face of the effects of drought.

Mr. NANJUWA has revealed that the province has over 800,000 by 50 kilograms bags of maize grain which will be made available to the people through the Food Reserve Agency  -FRA- community sales.

He says the province has a monthly consumption of about 100,000  bags and that no citizen in the province will be affected by hunger.

The provincial minister has since advised the people to refrain from illegal dealings that may limit access to maize grain by citizens especially in far flung areas, stating that the government will not hesitate to enforce the law on those found wanting.
