Govt To Consider ZNS Smelter Proposal

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the government is yet to consider the proposal by the Zambia National Service -ZNS   to construct a smelter in Kabompo District. -.

Mrs. NALUMANGO says ZNS has acquired licenses and is engaging investors for expertise and resources.

This was in response to a question from Lunte MP MUTOTWE KAFWAYA who enquired about the ZNS plans to construct a smelter in Kabompo valued at 15 billion United States Dollars.

And the vice president said has learnt lessons from the previous farming seasons and will ensure timely delivery of inputs.

She said distribution of inputs to farmers has already started in various parts of the country.

Speaking during the Vice President’s question time in Parliament, Mrs. NALUMANGO said the designated depots are receiving the inputs.

Meanwhile, Mrs. NALUMANGO has urged Zambians to honour the memory of late President MICHAEL SATA with dignity and respect.

The Vice President who described late President SATA as a hardworking man who was committed to his political cause said he should be remembered as a leader who won the hearts of many through his commitment to development.

Responding to Shiwangandu Member of Parliament, STEPHEN KAMPYONGO who wanted to find out if police will provide security for the 9th anniversary celebration tomorrow, Mrs. NALUMANGO said the anniversary of late President SATA has been celebrated annually in a lawful and respectful manner.
