GOVT TO BUILD CONSENSUS ON CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM

 

President HICHILEMA says government will ensure it builds consensus in undertaking constitutional reforms because of the many lacunas in the 2016 amended constitution.

He said reforms are an integral part of governance.

President HICHILEMA also stated that he will continue to lobby Parliament against costly and timely consuming by elections.

The Head of State also stated that his administration, working with Parliament will amend the public order act in line with democratic tenets as human dignity and enhancing human development for people is his major priority.

President HICHILEMA also reiterated his administration’s commitment in turning around the economy and uplift livelihoods of people as more efforts for increased productivity will be pushed.

He further advised employers to comply with labour laws and provide a conducive environment for workers.
