GOVT RELEASES K4BN FOR CDF

The ministry of Local Government has received 4-billion kwacha for the Constituency Development Fund -CDF- completing this year’s allocation.

Local Government Permanent Secretary MAAMBO HAAMAUNDU says the ministry has since disbursed over 23 million Kwacha to each of the 156 constituencies countrywide.

Mr. HAAMAUNDU says the latest release means that the entire 2022 CDF budget has been financed and available for utilization.

He has urged constituencies to access the monies and use it for the intended purpose which is to improve the social economic status of the people.

Speaking in an interview with ZNBC News, Mr. HAAMUNDU said it is important that there is transparency and accountability in the use of the resources availed to the constituencies.
