GOVT PRAISED OVER RELEASE OF 22 MILLION KWACHA FOR CITY MARKET

By Kachepa Mwiinga

Patriotic Front Lusaka Province Secretary Kennedy Kamba has praised government for releasing 22-million kwacha for the reconstruction of the Lusaka city market which was gutted in 2017.

Mr. Kamba says the release of funds through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- shows that the PF government is pro-poor and cares for the welfare of traders.

He says government under the leadership and guidance of President Edgar Lungu wants to see marketeers trading in conducive and clean environments.

Mr. Kamba told Journalists at a Media briefing in Lusaka that works are expected to begin next week.

Meanwhile , Mr. Kamba has re-emphasized that the PF leadership in all provinces have endorsed the candidature of President Lungu as the sole candidate for the forth coming general elections.

He wondered why Lusaka lawyer Kelvin Bwalya Fube popularly known as KBF who is not a member of the PF insists on wanting to challenge the candidature of President Lungu when he does not even qualify to do so.

And Mr. Kamba said the PF party country wide is convinced beyond doubt that President Lungu will ensure that the party wins the elections because he has scored in all areas of development such as Health, infrastructure and agriculture among others.

Mr. Kamba advised other opposition political parties such as the UPND to state what they will do for Zambians once elected which the Patriotic Front has failed to do.

Speaking at the same event PF Lusaka Province Women’s Chairlady Margaret Mumba said the eligibility of President Lungu was already resolved.
