GOVT. KEEN TO ADDRESS DEVELOPMENT OF GIRLS

Community Development and Social Services Minister DOREEN MWAMBA says the is committed addressing the  hindrances that limit the survival and development f the girl child.

Ms. MWAMBA was speaking during the commemoration of the International Day of the girl child in Lusaka today.

And the United Nations has pledged to support government to ensure equal opportunities for all girls in Zambia.

UNICEF Country Representative NOALA SKINNER said programs that help girls stay in school are important and must be enhanced.”

Meanwhile Child Fund Director DORAS CHIRWA said stakeholders must invest in equal and safe access for girls in effective participation in the digital space.

And Save the Children Director Programs and Operations KENAN LUNGU called for safe online digital platforms that protect children from all forms of abuse.
