Government is impressed with the quality and speed of works on the Chingola-Kasumbalesa road on the Copperbelt.

TAMARA MUSWALA reports that works on the 35 Kilometer project are being undertaken by Turbo Kachin Investments Consortium limited as the concessionaire.

Infrastructure Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI says the $533,000 cost per kilometer is way below the $1.2 million quoted in the past.

Mr. MILUPI says the government has achieved both its target of executing the project at the right cost, quality and timely delivery.

And Road Development Agency -RDA- Board Chairperson MULCHAND KUNTAWALA said the Chingola – Chililabombwe road will also have a weighbridge to ensure trucks do not overload.
