GOVT COMMITTED TO PROTECTING RIGHTS OF WOMEN

Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says committed to protecting the rights of women and all marginallized groups of society.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says this is evidenced through the accession to various international accords that protect the rights of women and the marginalised groups.

This was in a speech read on his behalf by acting Permanent Secretary for Budget and Economic Affairs WILLIS CHIPANGO, during the official opening of the USAID Revenue for Growth project on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion conference in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Gender Division Permanent Secretary MAINGA KABIKA said government aims to prioritise the advancement of women and girls by strengthening their capacity to influence decision-making at the highest level.

This was in a speech read on her behalf by Gender Division Head of Planning, Information and Documentation ANDREA HABWEZA.

Meanwhile, USAID Chief of Party EDWARD KOOS said the primary objective of the project is to support government in efforts to increase domestic revenues.
