Public and Private Drivers Association of Zambia (PPDAZ) is hopeful that government will in the 2019 national budget consider allocating funds towards programs that will increase road safety in the country.

Association President Josiah Majuru tells Q-news that with the improved road infrastructure across the country, there is need for enhanced road safety.

Mr. Majuru says government should equip the Road Transport and Safety Agency and the Zambia Police with resources that will help them increase and improve their road safety activities across the country.

He has also noted the need for an allocation towards the development of bus stations across the country.

Mr. Majuru says government should consider upgrading infrastructure at bus stations across the country going forward, so that bus drivers can operate in a conducive environment, a situation he says will also be beneficial to the commuters.
