Ghanaian President Dr. John Dramani Mahama congratulates President Lungu

GHANAIAN President His Excellency Dr. John Dramani Mahama has conveyed his congratulatory message to His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu President of the Republic of Zambia on his re-election in the August 11 polls.

In his message of congratulations dated 26th August, 2016, President Mahama described the re-election as a decisive feat that demonstrates recognition by the people of Zambia on the excellent qualities President Lungu possesses.

President Mahama is confident that President Lungu will steer the country in the direction of peace and prosperity.

The Ghanaian President also expressed confidence that with this endorsement of President Lungu’s mandate, the existing bonds of friendship between Zambia and Ghana will further be enhanced in future in a manner beneficial to the peoples of both countries.

He noted that Zambia has further demonstrated to the rest of the world, through the orderly nature of the transition, that it is a progressively maturing democracy and a symbol of peace worth emulating.

“I therefore wish to extend to you on this happy occasion, sincerest wishes for a successful tenure as President, and for your continued personal well being and good health,” President Mahama said.
