Getafe Star Joins Zambia’s Under-20 In Spain

Under-20-Spain Getafe midfielder Mwape Mumba has joined the Zambia U20 national football team currently in residential camp in Tenerife, Spain.

Mumba joined the squad on Thursday evening. The Zambia Under-20 got to work in Tenerife, Spain on their two week-long training program.

Beston Chambeshi’s lads had their first training session at the La Matanza Training Club on Thursday morning with an afternoon session at Estadio de Tenerife.

According to the tentative program the team is set to play Tenerife on January 31st before engaging Las Palmas on February 2 with another match against Real Madrid on February 6.

Delegation Leader Lee Kawanu told bolazambia from Tenerife that the team may also play FC Basel.

“There’s a request from fc Basel who are coming here for a camp to play us… the coaches are looking at playing that on Sunday 29th January,” Kawanu said.

The team is without Patson Daka and Conylyde Luchanga who are in Austria and Israel respectively for their respective clubs but will be part of the Total Under-20 Africa Cup squad.

Zanaco striker Fashion Sakala is reportedly out in Cyprus on a trial with a Russian side.

Zambia in Group A alongside Egypt, Mali and Guinea and will play their games at Heroes stadium.

Group B contains South Africa, Cameroon, Sudan and Senegal.

DEFENDERS: Solomon Sakala, Moses Nyondo, Benson Chali, Shemmy Mayembe, Prosper Chiluya, Edward Tembo, Sydney Phiri;

MIDFIELDERS: Boyd Musonda, Enock Mwepu, Linos Makwaza, Harrison Chisala, Kenneth Kalunga, Chrispine Sakulanda, Musonda Siame;

STRIKERS: Joseph Phiri, Edward Chilufya, Happy Nsofwa, Emmanuel Banda, Mwape Mumba.
