GERMANY TO SUPPORT FISHERIES AND LIVESTOCK SECTOR

The Federal Republic of Germany has expressed interest to support the fisheries and livestock sector in Zambia.

Germany ambassador to Zambia Anne Wagner-Mitchell says Zambia has a lot of potential to feed its population and that Germany will give support for the country to realize its potential.

Ms. Wagner-Mitchell says Germany will support Zambia to develop a viable fisheries and livestock sector.

She says this will in turn help to address the challenges affecting the nation such as climate change and malnutrition.

Ms. Wagner-Mitchell said this when she paid a courtesy call on fisheries and livestock minister Professor Nkandu Luo at her office.

And Professor Luo has appealed to the Germany government to support her ministry through the establishment of knowledge centers across the country.

Professor Luo said the knowledge centers are critical to the development of the fisheries and livestock especially in Northern, Luapula, Muchinga, Eastern and Southern provinces.
