Germany Company Eyes Bio-energy Power Project in Solwezi

A Germany based company, ISAK Energy, plans to set up a 10-million Euro investment in a bio-energy power project in Solwezi, North-Western province.ISAK Energy Consultant, Ronald Lunda says the firm has chosen Solwezi for the pilot project, because the North-Western province has good rainfall pattern.Mr Lunda disclosed this when a delegation from the company paid a courtesy call on North-Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Douglas Ngimbu at his office in Solwezi.He said the bio energy electricity project is environmentally friendly and will create jobs for the local people.And Company Director, Anna Hahn said the company has already done 3 per cent of the feasibility studies and that Chief Mumena has given land to the company for the project.Meanwhile, Mr Ngimbu said the project has come at the right time when the country is grappling with electricity deficit.Mr Ngimbu has commended the investors for settling for Solwezi, saying they have chosen a good place for investment as the province has good land and rainfall.
