FRA Starts selling Maize to Households in Drought Hit Districts

The Food Reserve Agency has started selling maize to households in drought hit districts.

FRA Public Relations Coordinator JOHN CHIPANDWE says in a press statement that the maize will be sold from FRA satellite depot locations in 84 drought hit districts.

Mr CHIPANDWE however noted that each household will only be entitled to buy a maximum of 50 kilograms of maize per month.

FRA will be selling a 50 Kilogram bag of maize at 330 Kwacha.

Mr CHIPANDWE says the Agency expects the local leadership in deserving areas to utilise the opportunity and apply for maize under this programme in order for the vulnerable households to benefit and address their food needs.
