Former Barca players Rayco Garcia and Ludovic Guily arrive today at 14:30 hrs

FAMOUS former French international and former Barcelona Football Club attacking midfielder Ludovic Guily arrives on Thursday in Zambia at 14:30hrs.

He will be accompanied by Rayco Garcia also a former Barcelona.

The duo will be in the country to negotiate the visit by Barcelona Football Club to Zambia in December.

Ludovic Guily represented France at international level, gaining 17 caps over a five-year period and was a member of their 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup-winning squad.

One of his greatest moments was being part of Barcelona’s squad, as he helped the team win the 2005-06 UEFA Champions League.
Also expected on Friday is Eric Abidal arrives in Zambia on Friday.

The now trio will be in the country to negotiate the trip due in December when Barcelona and Barcelona legends are expected to come to Zambia for friendly games and a visit to Tourism spots.

Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Emmanuel Mwamba said he was happy with the commitment displayed by organiser, and former Barcelona player Rayco Garcia.

He said the duo will arrive on Thursday at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 1430hrs to cement the arrangement with Football Association of Zambia.

And media event manager, Nkweto Tembwe said FAZ officials will be on hand to receive the duo.

He said that FAZ was looking forward to the December games with the Barcelona Team and Barcelona legends.

And Mr. Mwamba said Rayco Garcia had hoped to organise Barcelona to play a exhibition matches with the Zambia National Soccer Team and any club.

He said the Zambia will receive world media attention that enhances and promotes tourism.

He said his firm hopes to work with government to promote Zambia’s famous tourism features and spots.

He said the visit by former Barcelona football players would significantly provide comfort to prospecting corporate sponsors of the December outing.

And Mr. Mwamba said the economic and tourism benefit to the country would be immense as the visit of such high profile personalities put Zambia on the World Map.

And Rayco Garcia has pledged to promote soccer in Zambia by conducting coaching clinics and putting up a soccer academy.

He has also pledged to take highly talented youths into the famous Spanish league “La Liga” beginning next season.
