FOREIGNERS WARNED OVER NRC EXERCISE – BANDA

By Christopher Miti

Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Masiye Banda says foreigners who will take part in the mobile National Registration exercise which has been launched today will be punished.

Mr. Banda says the authorities are on high alert to ensure that this does not happen.

He has also cautioned parents against aiding children who are under 16 years to obtain NRC’s.

Mr Banda was speaking when he flagged off the 2020 mobile National Registration exercise at Nyakutwa Primary School in Chipata today.

Mr Banda appealed to church leaders, traditional leaders, political leaders, and the media to help in sensitizing members of the public on the importance of the exercise.

Earlier Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Veronica Mwiche said she is happy that the exercise has been flagged off in the Province.

Meanwhile Chief Kapatamoyo’s representative Alfred Phiri said the acquisition of NRCs will help people to obtain various services such as fertilizer from government.
