Fisho Mwale, Maureen, Mpondela Race For Lusaka Mayoral Seat

Former Lusaka Mayor Fisho Mwale opened the way for nominations for the position of Executive Mayor in Lusaka.

Mwale is contesting as an independent and will join five other candidates for the race of mayor.

He struck a confident posture after successfully filing his nomination at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

The Mulungushi International Conference Centre has provided some warm up action with the place expected to heat up during the week when the heavies for the presidential seat file their nominations.

Ten candidates have their eyes on the presidency although the race is largely seen as being between UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema and PF’s Edgar Lungu with Edith Nawakwi in a distant third.

The country is gearing for elections that will be held on August 11.
