By Ruth Chayinda

The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ-   says it will work with government to ensure the Shepolopolo team is kept active prior to the World Cup.

This follows the automatic qualification of the Zambia Women’s National Football Team to the World Cup.

The team yesterday settled for third-place finish at the 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations -WAFCON- after beating Nigeria 1:0.

FAZ president ANDREW KAMANGA says support by Government has been the main catalyst for the Copper Queens success.

KAMANGA has congratulated the Copper Queens for the success further saying the girls have done the nation proud with their heroic performances that won hearts on the African continent and beyond.

He has also thanked the FAZ secretariat for being on the ground running with the day-to-day activities of the Copper Queens and urged them to gear up for greater responsibilities for the work ahead.

KAMANGA has also commended fans for the support rendered to the team throughout the campaign and appealed for even greater support as the Association commences preparations for the Australia/New Zealand FIFA Women’s World Cup.
