FAZ, AMB EMMANUEL MWAMBA PARTNER TO STAGE EASTER SOCCER TOURNAMENT

The Football Association of Zambia in Northern Province have partnered with Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba to run a men’s and girls’ soccer tournament whose finals will be played during the Easter Holidays.

FAZ Northern Provincial Chairperson, Mwansa Kapyanga announced the development.

Mr. Kapyanga said the tournament will be the 2nd Emmanuel Mwamba Tournament and will involve over 44 teams from Kasama District.

He said the tournament will also involve exhibition matches from the girls as this was an area that needed intensive development.

He said the tournament will start in January.

And Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Emmanuel Mwamba said this was his contribution to soccer development in Northern Province.

He said the 2nd Emmanuel Mwamba tournament follows the first one that was held in 2016.

He said he hoped that as the tournament grows, it will involve football teams from the entire region and encouraged all well meaning sponsors to partner with the Regional Association.

The tournament will cost K220,000 over a period of four months and participating teams will win various prizes and trophies.
