FARMERS CAUTIONED

Copperbelt Province Agricultural Coordinator Obvious Kabinda has cautioned farmers participating in the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) against sharing the input pack meant for an individual.
Dr. Kabinda says sharing the packs are against stipulated guidelines and any farmer who would be found wanting would be deregistered.
He says his office has received disturbing reports among Cooperative leadership who are forcing some members to share the inputs even among those that are not eligible.
Dr. Kabinda says the aim of FISP is to ensure that participating farmers maximize the use of the packs so that they graduate after three years.
Dr. Kabinda also disclosed that Nyimba Investments Limited, the company contracted by government to deliver inputs under the revised Direct Input Supply System, has completed delivering all the inputs for Mpongwe, Masaiti and Lufwanyama districts.
He was speaking in an interview NAIS in Ndola.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kabinda has called on transporters engaged in the distribution of inputs under the revised Direct Input Supply System to expedite the process of delivering the designated points.
