FAO To fight Land degradation, desertification

The Food and Agriculture Organization -FAO- has called for strengthened collaboration in addressing land degradation and desertification in Zambia.

FAO Country Representative SUZE PERCY FILIPPINI says Land degradation and desertification are among main environmental challenges affecting ecosystems, livelihoods and the economy in Zambia.

Speaking during the validation meeting of the National Action Plan -NAP, Ms FILIPPINI said  the plan will help to combat land degradation and desertification in Zambia.

And Green Economy and Environment Ministry Principal Environment management officer ABSALOM SAKALA noted that the implementation of the plan will lead to sustainable investment in land management.
