ERB advises against fuel panic buying

ZANIS-The Energy regulation board -ERB- is concerned that panic buying of fuel is encouraging unscrupulous traders to cash in by reselling petroleum products at inflated prices.

ERB Director General LANGIWE LUNGU is worried that some traders are using unauthorised containers to buy huge quantities of fuel which they later sell at abnormal prices.

Ms. LUNGU was speaking in Choma when she paid an impromptu visit to some selected filling stations.

This was shortly after Ms. Lungu met Southern Province Permanent Secretary MWANGALA LIOMBA.

And Mr. LIOMBA assured the ERB Director General that adequate security by Zambia Police will be provided at service stations to ensure smooth conduct of business.
