Energy Expert Calls For Enhancement Of Energy Diplomacy

Energy Expert Johnstone Chikwanda says there is a need for Zambia to enhance its energy diplomacy with Mozambique and Tanzania if current challenges being faced by Zambia Tanker Drivers are to be addressed.
A fortnight ago, Tanker Drivers in Zambia complained that they are not being allowed to load fuel in Tanzania and Mozambique, a development they say has left them none operational for over two months now.
But Mr. Chikwanda tells phoenix news in an interview that challenges tanker drivers are experiencing with regards to loading fuel in the two countries is a diplomatic issue.
Mr. Chikwanda explains that Zambian embassies in both Mozambique and Tanzania need to increase their engagement with authorities to arrest the situation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chikwanda says there is a need to investigate assertions by oil marketing companies that they prefer using foreign oil transporters because they are cheaper than local ones.
