Zesco United and Lusaka dynamos have reached an amicable agreement over the transfer saga involving Congolese forward Chris Kopa Mugalu.

According to a joint press release accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, Mugalu will remain at Lusaka Dynamos as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew. At the meeting held at FAZ, both clubs had representation in Francis Bwalya for LD and Joseph Soko for the Super League defending Champions.

“Lusaka dynamos and Zesco United have today, January 7th reached an amicable agreement regarding the services of the player Mutshimba Kope “Chris” Mugalu.

The player, therefore, continues to play under Lusaka Dynamos,” read the joint press statement.

Zesco United and the player agreed on a deal in July and the Congolese forward signed a pre-contract with the Ndola giants and was given an undisclosed amount of money at the time.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that there was no contact between the two clubs but between the player and Zesco United at this stage. Lusaka dynamos are expected to pay off the money Mugalu got from Zesco United.

A ZamFoot Crew source stated that Mugalu was owed money by Lusaka Dynamos at the time he signed the pre-contract and he was getting frustrated with the status quo at Dynamos. Lusaka Dynamos however cleared all their outstanding dues to their Captain before the end of the year and the player was comfortable in Lusaka hence deciding against joining Zesco United.
