ECL EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES NODDED

By Robert Mwanza- National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili has implored Zambians to guard jealously the peace that the country has enjoyed since independence.

Reverend Sumaili says it is important to ensure continued social and economic development in the country.

She has further encouraged Zambians to remain united and avoid hate speech as the country gears for the August 12 general election.

Reverend Sumaili says it is the wish of President Edgar Lungu that Zambia holds peaceful elections this year and beyond.

She said this when she paid a courtesy call on Chief Mukupa Kaoma of the Bemba people of Northern Province at his palace before she addressed the clergy on empowerment for the Churches in the area.

AND Chief Mukupa Kaoma said President Lungu’s empowerment programmes show that he has a heart for the people of Zambia.

The chief said various empowerment programmes by government have transformed many lives in communities.

He has since appealed to citizens to support President Lungu in developing the nation.
