ECL ASSURES NATION OVER FOOD

By Hector Simfukwe:President Edgar Lungu says there is enough relief food to provide to affected people across the country.President Lungu says the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- will continue assessing the situation in affected areas.The President is however happy that some bags of mealie meal are already in Chibombo district for distribution to the affected people in the district.And President Lungu is saddened with the slow pace at which some projects are being implemented in the area.He cited the construction of the modern police station as one of the projects that has delayed.The Head of State has since urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to take interest and ensure that the projects is completed.President Lungu was speaking when he met Chiefs Liteta, Chitanda, Mungule and Luputa at Chibombo Administrative Offices this afternoon.And, speaking on behalf of other traditional leaders, Chief Liteta urged government to complete the construction of Mumbwa -Land less corner road.The Traditional leader said the road is key to the people of the area.Chief Liteta also urged government to provide relief food to the people as they also experienced poor harvest.He also thanked the President Lungu for the uniform development that is taking place and that the chiefs are happy with his leadership and will support his efforts.
