EASTERN AND CB PROVINCES ON COVID-19 ALERT
The Ministry of Health has expressed concern with Eastern and Copperbelt provinces that are still recording higher numbers of COVID-19 cases.
Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services KENNEDY MALAMA has since urged all Provinces to ramp up community preventive interventions to prevent and mitigate the further spread of COVID-19.
Dr. MALAMA says the positive outlook in the COVID-19 response is encouraging as there is a reduction in positivity, hospitalisations and deaths.
He says in the last 24 hours, 4-hundred and 76 new COVID-19 cases were recorded out of 6 thousand and 83 tests conducted.
Dr. MALAMA says 22 COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours and 4 hundred and 23 patients were discharged.
This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC News in Lusaka today.
