Eagles fail to fly in Choma

Green Eagles football club was this afternoon held to a one-all draw by Kabwe Warriors in an MTN/FAZ Super League week one fixture played at the independence stadium in choma.

Eagles scored first in the 27th minute through Kennedy Musonda but the lead was short-lived as warriors equalized four minutes later in the 31st minute through debutant Sydney Phiri.

Head coach Aggrey Chiyangi described the match as hard but also felt his players did not start the match with the urgency it deserved.

“It was a very tough game, the problem we considered a very silly goal but I think we will work on it so that we do not slumber again,” coach Aggrey Chiyangi told the zamfoot crew.

Green Eagles made one notable change to their starting eleven resting Amitty Shamende but Chiyangi refused to attribute the loss to the absence of the influential winger.

“We have many players at the club and we expect all other players when called upon to perform to their best. We do not want a situation where we have to depend on just eleven players,” he said.

Green Eagles next game is against the wounded sensational Zanaco on 8th September to be played in Lusaka.
