Eagles and Luyando continue to set the pace in Lusaka Women League

2020/21 FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Province entered Match Week 10 this weekend as the Unstoppable Green Eagles continued on cruise control after they walloped Garden Youth while the Stubborn Girls Pataaki were held to a 1-1 draw by ZANACO Ladies, as Luyando Foundation impressive run extended with a victory over Misisi Queens.

Log leaders and unbeaten Green Eagles who have been firing from all Cylinders this season yet again showed how experienced and angry for victory they are when they walloped Garden Youth 5-1 at home in Makeni.

Goal poacher Racheal Moono scored a hattrick while Tryness Changwe and Rosemary Cheelo contributed a goal each for the coach Simon Kayombo drilled lasses who are now on a historical 10 game unbeaten run in the league with a 100% winning record while Margaret scored a consolation goal for Garden Youth.

At Katwishi Ground, second-placed Luyando Foundation Girls were too good for Misisi Queens United thanks to goals from Tefeoga Munene who converted from the penalty spot as well as a goal each from All-Stars products Ruth Daka and Diana Banda to condemn Misisi to a painful 3-0 home loss.

In Zingalume, NAPSA Stars have continued with their impressive form this time around with a comfortable 2-0 away win over bottom-placed Lusaka Red Lions. A goal each from Bernedette Daka and Clara Ngoma was enough for Coach Enala Phiri Simbeye tutored girls to make it 3 wins out of 3 games.

In a doubleheader at Olympia Park Secondary School Grounds, both games produced stalemates starting with the first match involving Mapani Queens who hosted Chibolya Sports Academy.

Mapalo Kapindula scored for Mapani while Mutole Phiri registered her name on the score sheet for the Chibolya based side.

In the other game, Stubborn Girls Pataaki were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by ZANACO Ladies FC.

The Stubborn Girls who were denied 2 goals ruled out for offside scored first through Pauline Zulu before Stella Kapotwe Equalized for the Sensational Ladies 5 minutes after the break to level the scores to 1-1 as they shared spoils.

At NRDC Grounds, Football Chance Foundation Girls shocked visiting Kafue Celtic Queens as they held on to their nerves and settled for a 1-1 draw.

Chewe Mukuka scored for Celtic Queens while Bupe Banda converted from the spot for Foundation Girls who were so happy to walk away with a point against a strong Celtic side.

In Chilanga, Twikatane recorded their second win of the season via a 2-0 victory over struggling Progress Sports Club at Mt. Makulu Secondary School Grounds while across Linda, in Freedom Compound, Lusaka Queens goal poacher Ruth Ngoma was on the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon alongside Nandipa Mkombe and Rose Mbewe as the Queens of Lusaka defeated King Sports Academy 3-0 at TAP Grounds and collected maximum points.
