Don’t Force HH To Recognise Lungu, Mayondi Tells Commonwealth
The United Party For National Development (UPND ) has backed Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Enock Tembo(SET’s) analysis on the Commonwealth initiative to mediate the proposed reconciliatory dialogue between President Lungu and opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema.
UPND Mobilisation Committee Chairperson Kelvin Mayondi wondered where the Commonwealth was when the largest opposition party in Zambia complained of injustices and unleveled political play field.
“The observers declared the 2016 fraudulent elections free and fair.
Mayondi said Commonwealth must not force Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND to recognise Mr Edgar Lungu as President.
“… Rather let them compel Mr Lungu and his PF to allow the Court of Law to hear the petition brought forward by Hichilema and his Running Mate Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba because it is a source of tension in the country,” Mayondi streesed.
