Disgraced Nkana Fans Strip 3 Women After Loss

NKANA supporters on Saturday vented the anger of the their team’s loss on Green Buffaloes, fighting the army side supporters and stripping three female fans.

The Kitwe giants went down 3-2 in a week 5 FAZ/MTN super league match at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Just when it seemed like Nkana had salvaged a 2-all draw from the game, Green Buffaloes scored late into added time to silence the fans in red.

As fans made their way out to see their teams off, Green Buffaloes supporters converged just outside West Wing exit where they sang mocking songs, forcing Nkana fans to react violently.

Green Buffaloes responded with equal violence that resulted into a free-for-all punch in which Nkana fans stripped three females. The chaos was immediately ended as more Nkana fans arrived on the scene to restrain their colleagues.

The loss to Green Buffaloes was Nkana’s second defeat of the season.

They lost to Nchanga Rangers 1-0 in week two and have drawn 2-2 against Zesco and 1-1 with Nakambala Leopards, recording only one victory against Napsa Stars via a 2-0 scoreline.

But Nkana coach Zeddy Saileti said the Wusakile side is a big team capable of handling the premiership pressure.

He lamented his team’s loss but said such was football.

Nkana gifted Green Buffaloes three easy goals, resulting from sloppy defending.

“In the first half, we didn’t play well but in the second half, we played well but we conceded a lot of mistakes. We have to work on the concentration, especially the defence. They have to concentrate throughout the 90 minutes,” said Saileti.
