Depleted Arrows faced Power Dynamos without 8 key players

Red Arrows travelled to Kitwe for their goalless draw against Power Dynamos without eight key players.

With Green Eagles hosting Zesco United in Choma on the same day, Arrows’ visit to Arthur Davies Stadium was seen as a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Zambian Super League.

Goalkeeper Charles Kalumba, defenders Benedict Chepeshi and Prosper Chiluya are away with the national team in Turkey.

The quartet Kebson Kamanga, Alasane Diarra, Soutra Tshimenga, Alidor Kayembe and Twiza Chaibela are in the treatment with various injuries.

Kalumba has been impressive for Arrows in goal this season and his form has been rewarded with a national team call up.

Twiza Chaibela was named man of the match against Lusaka Dynamos

Although he has suffered a dip in form, Chepeshi is the first choice right back at Nkoloma Stadium.

Kamanga has been solid at left back position and chipped in with a few crosses in the final third. Actually he was also supposed to have been on international duty.

Attacking duo Diarra and Tshimenga have terrorised defences this season while Chaibela and Kayembe have done their part off the bench.

Despite having a depleted squad, Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe still patched up a squad that picked up a point at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Arrows have 56 points while both Zesco United and Green Eagles are level on 48 points. Zesco has played a game less.

Red Arrows XI v Power Dynamos: Ken Mumba – Nickson Mubili, Allan Kapila, Tresor Tshibwabwa Yambayamba, Chewe Mukuka  – George Simbayambaya, Saddam Yusuf Phiri, George Mandu – James Chamanga, Ricky Banda, Ricky Banda.
