DEC arrests three male suspects for being in possession of Zambian Kwacha counterfeit notes

THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in Muchinga Province has arrested three male suspects for being in possession of Zambian Kwacha counterfeit notes.

Douglas Silavwe aged 42 years, of Nyondo village in Nakonde District has been arrested and jointly charged with Teddy Sikaona aged 41years, of Kitwe, and Blackwell Sikaona aged 58 years, of Katozi village in Nakonde District for being in possession of K6, 000 counterfeit notes in K100 bills.

The suspects were apprehended from Katozi village as they were about to transact.

Meanwhile, the Commission has arrested Evans Bwalya aged 22 years old, of East park area in Kapiri Mposhi for trafficking in 18.7kg of cannabis; John Phiri aged 32years old, a small-scale farmer of Mnoro farm in Chipata District for trafficking in 8.2kg of cannabis, and Clevous Chibuye aged 21years old, of Chibuye village in Serenje for trafficking in 4.3kg of cannabis.

Others arrested include Morgan Mphola aged 40 years a small-scale farmer of Shaminzinga village in Mumbwa District for trafficking in 3.6kg of cannabis, and Kelvin Katwishi aged 24 years, a small-scale farmer of Mwanachama village in Mansa District for trafficking in 1.8kg of cannabis.

All suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
