Debt restructuring deal benefIts coming-Nalumango

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called on citizens to be patient as the benefits coming from the debt restructuring will not be immediate.

Mrs. NALUMANGO however says Zambia sealing the debt restructuring deal is important and should give hope to citizens.

She says through the debt deal, the economy and the lives of the people will improve as the country is expected to see an increased inflow of investments.

Speaking in Parliament  during the Vice President’s question time, Mrs. NALUMANGO stressed that with the restructuring of debt, the country will have some freed resources which will be channeled to needy sectors such as the construction of roads.

She said this in response to a question raised by the Mitete Member of Parliament MISHECK MUTELO who wanted to find out when Government will work on the Katando Mubezi road following the many achievements scored.

Mrs. NALUMANGO assured Mr. MUTELO and other parliamentarians that Government will also advocate for some road works to be carried out using the Public Private Partnership model, which will free some monies which can be channeled to other road infrastructure

And Mrs. NALUMAMGO also called on various stakeholders to work with Government to ensure that the debt restructure also mitigates the poverty levels in the country.

She said this response to a question raised by the Msanzala Member of Parliament ELIAS DAKA who wanted to find out what Government is going to do to alleviate hunger in his Constituency.
