DEAL WITH PERPETRATORS OF VIOLENCE – PROF LUO

By Paul Shalala

President Edgar Lungu’s Running Mate in the August 12 General Election Nkandu Luo called on the Zambia Police to deal firmly with perpetrators of violence.

Professor Luo is concerned about stems of pockets of violence being perpetrated by political parties during campaign road shows.

Speaking at a Press Briefing in Kitwe this morning, Professor Luo said she has been to all 10 provinces of Zambia and none of her engagements have degenerated into violence.

Meanwhile, Professor Luo says the Patriotic Front is a tested party which should be voted back because it has delivered on all its campaign promises.

She says people in the SADC region will in future start flocking to Zambia for health and education tourism because government has in the past 10 years invested heavily in the two sectors.

Professor Luo said it is on this score on which the ruling party must be retained during next month’s general elections.

And Professor Luo’s Campaign Manager Given Lubinda has challenged UPND President Hakainde Hichilema to come out in the open and condemn the violence which happened in Chisamba District yesterday.

Mr. Lubinda says the violence which has been reported in the media during Mr. Hichilema ‘s visit to the area yesterday is unacceptable.

Meanwhile, Deputy Campaign Manager Jean Kapata revealed that the PF Running Mate has been meeting an average of two thousand people per day on her campaign trail.

Ms. Kapata said Professor Luo has been meeting people in town halls, churches, and chiefdoms to explain to them the aspiration of the ruling party.
