CZECH ASKS ZAMBIA TO OPEN EMBASSY IN PRAGUE

President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman has asked the Zambian government to consider opening an embassy in Prague.
President Zeman says the physical presence of an embassy will facilitate deepened relations between Zambia and the Czech Republic.
He was speaking at the Presidential palace shortly after receiving credentials from Zambia’s Ambassador to Germany Anthony Mukwita who is now accredited to the Czech Republic on a non-residential basis.
President Zeman said he wants to see more economic diplomacy and the signing of a memorandum of understanding on economic cooperation.
Mr. Zeman is also pleased with the increase in education scholarships that are seeing Zambian students pursuing studies in Prague.
And Mr. Mukwita expressed gratitude at the friendly relations that exist between both countries.

Mr. Mukwita said some of his immediate responsibilities include the facilitation of the visit of the Czech Foreign Minister to Zambia along with the signing of an MOU on economic cooperation.
This is according to a statement made available to ZNBC news by first secretary for press at the Zambian embassy in Berlin Kellys Kaunda.
