Cross Border Traders Advised Against Traveling to South Africa

By Penlope Sikazwe -The Cross-Border Traders Association has called on traders to suspend their scheduled trips to South Africa until the situation in that country stabilizes.This follows a spate of xenophobic attacks in that country that comes in the wake of industrial protests.Association Chairperson General Goodson Mbewe says the situation on the ground may be unsafe for business.Speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka, Mr. Mbewe said it is unfortunate that the situation in South Africa has escalated to pockets of violence against foreigners.Mr. Mbewe said if the situation is not controlled cross Border trade in the region will be severely affected.
