Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for technical services KENNEDY MALAMA says the positive outlook that has been observed in the response strategies against COVID-19 have continued.

Dr. MALAMA says the ministry will continue monitoring the situation as activities related to the electoral process may trigger some spikes in coming weeks.

Dr. MALAMA says COVID-19 vaccination is a key pillar in the fight against COVID-19 and countries which have made headway in saving lives, livelihoods and the economy are those who have vaccinated most of their population.

He says in the last 24 hours, one thousand 5 hundred and 63 Dose 1 and one hundred and 67 Dose 2 AstraZeneca vaccinations were administered as well as 2 thousand 4 hundred and 61 doses of Johnson and Johnson.

Dr. MALAMA says in the last 24 hours, the country recorded 97 new COVID-19 cases out of 2 thousand 5 hundred and 29 tests conducted and three 3 COVID-19 related deaths.

He says there has been a reduction in the number of COVID-19 deaths.
